What are Artists’ Open Studios events?
The Kauai Art Tour showcases fine art & fine craft in a wide range of styles & media. The event contributes to public awareness about the quality & diversity of creativity the art community on Kauai has to offer & offers Tour visitors – both local & tourist alike – opportunities to see & purchase a wide range of original work directly from individual artists as well as talk story with them about their process and creations.
Artists are encouraged to give live demonstrations, talk story about their art and process, serve refreshments, sell their work, connect with Tour visitors & create unique exhibition spaces for the public to enjoy.
The Kauai Art Tour and its Preview Exhibit are free to the public.
All are welcome.
The Inaugural Kauai Art Tour was a self-guided, 2-weekend event to individual artists’ and artisans’ studios where they create their works of art and craft in April 2015.
Maps to registered artists’ studios and info about each artist were available around the island in a full-color, magazine-sized Guidebook. The Maps and artist info were also available online throughout the Tour. If you’d like a Guidebook that has info on each artist who participated as well as images of their work, we still have some available for the cost of shipping/handling — please see the link in the sidebar!
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication or a modification of policies and procedures to participate in this event should contact Donia Lilly at: KauaiArtTour (at) gmail (dot) com, as soon as possible, but no later than 14 days before the scheduled event.
